Sunshine Award 2015

SunshineAwarad
Woot! Another award? 😉 The lovely Mr Kwon @ dramajjang has nominated me for a Sunshine Award. Thank you, Sir! I try to do my best with the answers.

As per usual, I’ll opt out of nominating anyone. I just don’t have enough new ‘friends’ to pass the baton to. Besides, I seriously suck at figuring out what to ask, ha.

So, on to my aswers then.

You are my sunshine…

Dang, this was totally unexpected but I have been nominated for Sunshine Award by snow at The Drama Corner. Thank you kindly, it’s an honor and I’m not worthy. 🙂

I gave it some serious thought but I decided not to nominate anyone. I’m a perennial drive by lurker so my active blogroll is pretty short and the blogs I’m more familiar with already have a nomination or three.

Anyway, here are my answers to snow’s questions:

1. What is your favourite thing to do when you are not watching dramas?
Reading. It’s hard to remember a time when I did not read and there was a time I hardly did anything but on my free time. I love books and bookshops + libraries are one of my favourite places to be. Hours can pass by while I’m browsing and reading. I’ve never warmed up to the electronic versions of books like Kindle etc. I’m old-fashoned that way.

2. Which is your all time favourite movie in the following categories: [1] Thriller [2] Romance [3] Comedy.
Gosh, this is a hard one as I’m really not all that into movies in general. I wouldn’t say these are my all time faves but more like some of the memorable ones; [1] LA Confidential [2] Dating the Enemy (Australia) [3] Allmost anything by Monty Python^^

3. Your favourite book.
Too many to mention. I don’t have just one favourite book but a whole catalogue, LOL! From the ones I’ve read recently, I really loved The Best Laid Plans and The High Road by Terry Fallis. They are freaking hilarious! I laughed till I cried so.many.times. Political satire is not easy to do but this guy is good.

4. Your go-to drama.
I think… either Stranger than Paradise or Beach Boys – depends on the mood.

5. In your opinion, the best drama couple is………
As a non-shipper I don’t really pay all that much attention to the pairings but I do rather love An Lei/Yi Kang @ The Pursuit of Happiness

6. What is the best smell in the world?
The way a forest smells in different times of the year. Right now it’s the slightly tangy, fresh smell of early autumn. Mmmmmm… love it.

7. Your dream pairing for a drama.
Me and UTW? XD This is not exactly a pairing but I’d love to see Eric, Jung Yoo Mi and UTW do a remake…ish of The Pursuit of Happines.

8. Your favourite character from Friends (if you haven’t seen it, then from any other American T.V. show)
Probably Phoebe, ha.

A bit of this and a bit of that

Another one bites the dust. God’s Gift went out with yet another WTF! ending aaannnd thus it got scratched from my to-watch pile. I’m glad to have dodged the bullet with opting out not to watch it as it aired. My spidey senses told me after the first couple of epis, that it’s better to wait and see. Was I right, or was I right? ;P I wonder what’ll be the fate of Three Days…?

These days is almost more nerve wrecking to wait for a kdrama to end than watching a suspensefull thriller. Sigh. So, thank god for Pan Ahn Seok! I don’t have the smallest doubt that Secret Love Affair will have an ending it deserves.

SLA has more or less spoiled every other kdrama for me atm. I even had to take a break with Wonderful Season, which I’ve quite liked so far. Well, that one is a 50 ep family drama, so a short pause may actually be a good move.

Instead of kdramas I’ve been watching more western tv shows, couple of jdramas and I finally picked up The Pursuit of Happiness, a tw-drama I’ve had on The List of Doom for a while now. TPoH came highly recommended by Mookie, a good blogging buddy who is very hard to please, LOL! She was not wrong about it either, I’m loving the mellow feel of TPoH and a lead pair with lovely chemistry. 🙂 A post will probably appear at some point. I think.

I’m very good at procrastinating, which is why I decided to tinker a bit more with the blog instead of tackling stuff related to my studies. Added a link to my tumbler and a new sidebar widget-thingy that’ll be featuring yt vids of some of my fave songs/performers. XD The group featured atm is the first Korean vocal group I got to know and love; Monday Kiz.

Banners…

How utterly typical of me. Instead of thinking about something relevant to post, or alternately actually tackle some of my rl commitments, what do I do? Make banners. ;P

I’m a very slow graphics maker as I just can’t seem to stop tinkering. It’ll probably take a while before I have more than these few up and running. Still, it was nice to see I haven’t forgotten how to use Photoshop. It’s really been quite long since I did anything significant with it.

Starting anew

I guess I’ve been skirting around the desicion to start up a blog for a while now. Or rather move from LJ/DW to this format. Most of the people in the blogverse I keep tabs with seem to be in WB anyway, so it seemed like an organic development.

This might not be the most auspicious moment to start tinkering with a new media as rl is still very busy, but it just felt like now was the time. God knows what I’ll make of it in the end. 🙂 I’m having fun so far.

I decided to start with bringing over some of my so-called drama recs from LJ, unedited. I’ll probably try to correct at least some of the worst spelling mistakes at some point. As for new content… hopefullly when I get inspired enough by a drama to actually comment on it.
