My life in dramas – aka The List

As I’ve been immersed in this world of dramas for some time now, you’d think that my drama-list would be a lot longer than it actually is. In the beginning, when everything was still new and shiny, I used to gobble up whatever came my way, without much rhyme or reason but as years went by I started to get much pickier, more critical and harder to please. Tropes I used to be ok with started to become high irritants and there are a few now I can’t abide at all. Hence, fewer dramas watched and many, many, MANY more kicked at the curb each year.

Favourite k-drama?
Well, for several years Mawang ruled supreme but these days it’s a toss between Forest of Secrets, I Live in Cheongdam-dong, Yoo Na’s Street and Avenger’s Social Club. πŸ™‚

Faves from countries other than Korea:
Jasashii Jikan, Keizoku (the original), Tiger & Dragon, Beach Boys, Shinya Shokudo, Kita no Kuni Kara, Juhan Shuttai!, Nemureru Mori no Jukujo, Seirei no Moribito, The Pursuit of Happiness, Black & White, To Get Her, Of Monks and Masters, Dr. Qin Medical Examiner, CrossFire, Ever Night, The Story of Minglan, Ancient Detective, Joy of Life, The Untamed, The Imperial Coroner.

The List (only Korean dramas I’ve finished) (needs to be updated)

  1. I always keep track on My Drama List. Not as big a deal since I have not been able to watch a ton in the last few months because of work. But sometimes I can have as much as 20 going at once.

    • I haven’t updated the list in a while, so it’s missing a drama here and there. I’ll probably fix that in the near future when the dramas on my current roster have finished their run.

Goodness, 20 dramas! I’ve never managed that many, even during the haydays of my drama watching. πŸ™‚ Too busy these days to be able to watch more than a fiew at a time.

  2. I am so glad I’m not the only one with a list. Actually, mine’s a spreadsheet right now but same concept. πŸ˜‰ It’s not nearly as long as yours, though–I’ve only been a fan since late 2014. πŸ™‚

    • πŸ™‚ I’m a regular ‘listmaker’. Over the years I’ve kept tabs on all sorts of things, ha. In all probability the length of your list will start resembling mine soon enough if you keep watching. XD

  3. OMG…I’ve also seen soooo many of them in so little time! I need to slow down, subito! Btw. I totally agree on Devil and Resurrection…best screenplays, ever! What a shame for Shark not being on par with them! I admit I felt for my beloved Uhm in Resurrection and I got over the Goong-ish looks of JJH in the Devil! And NO, it’s not a manga…Devil is an original idea, totally! We need to keep telling people that…right, amica? :))

    • I watched quite a buch when I first got into the whacky world of dramas but the pace has really slowed down since the early days. Devil and Resurrection are two of my all time faves and I’ve watched both several times. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored with them. I was ever so disapointed when Shark turned out to be a dud. Yup, Devil is definitely not a manga. Are people really thinking it is? How odd.

    • LOL! It’s been ca. 7 years so I guess that’s enough time to get a bit of a collection. And I keep adding to it each year, though at a slower pace than in the beginning.^^
